This blog originally started as a way to feature three puppies that were found abandoned in the street and to find them permanent homes. That mission was accomplished, so now this space will feature other animals available for adoption in San Antonio shelters.
I learned a lot about the city's shelters and the life of an abandoned
animal through volunteering at the Animal Defense League and through my
experience fostering abandoned puppies. I have come to love many of the
animals at the shelter and want to do what I can to help them get
adopted. Sure, the time I spend there walking dogs and socializing the
cats is important. As is fostering young and injured animals so they can be adopted. But helping to spread the word about them is even
more important. There are so many wonderful animals in the city's
shelters. The shelters do a great job caring for them, but every animal deserves a loving home. If you are thinking of getting a pet, please visit the local shelters. Spend some time with the animals to get to know them - your companion is out there waiting for you!
